Autodesk University - Live Design and other cool things

Great time in Las Vegas this week with my clients. One of the highlights was taking them through a Live Design demo, using augmented reality. Watch this video to get a sense of how we are entering a new era of design and visualization. Sally, this is a must for you to see! Think about how your firm could begin to use tools like Autodesk Stingray (combined with Revit, 3ds Max, etc.) to help clients visualize their projects and spaces. Think about how you can augment your skill set, by becoming a subject matter expert on these technologies in your field of interior design.

Also, this is a great link to catch up on many cool things happening at Autodesk. I hope you guys will take time to watch some of the videos.

Fit as a Fiddle Friday!

Virtual Reality: Behind the Scenes With a Ballerina at Lincoln Center

This one is for Lucy. Super cool. Be sure to use headphones when watching.

The world of the elite ballerina is one of sore limbs and lithe bodies, demanding rehearsals and cavernous theaters. Sarah Lane, a soloist with the American Ballet Theatre, danced through it all as she prepared the title role in “The Sleeping Beauty” in Manhattan.

The Wall Street Journal used a 360-degree virtual reality camera to record Ms. Lane in the preparations for her performance. With this new medium, viewers can take an intimate backstage tour of the Metropolitan Opera House, sharing Ms. Lane’s experience in the rehearsal studio, the make-up room, and standing in the wings, waiting to go on.

Chicks have arrived at the Oakey's farm

Women Power Wednesday - This one for Sally

Hey girls,

I hope everyone is having a great Women Power Wednesday. Lucy went back to school today, so prayers that she continues to feel better. Emily has a big critique of her senior project today. Mom is at the car dealership for a slightly overdue tune up on Pretty.

Sally, I thought of you when I saw this article on the modern and easy way to design your home.

Check it out when you can.

Love,

Dad
