Happy 35th Birthday T!

Lucy: T is 35!!! This year, I am especially thankful for Taylor’s willingness to help Trey get connected here in Atlanta and coach him through his interview process. Most of the time, I get to see Taylor live in our “Singletary-centred” world surrounded by our friends and family. But, as Trey was networking with T’s friends, we got a taste of what it would be like to be living in Taylor’s world here in Atlanta. T is deeply admired and respected (I think at one point referred to as an insurance God 😉). We are lucky to have him in our family, and I can’t wait to be in the same city!

Trey: Taylor has been such a great mentor to me over the past year as I’ve transitioned into a new job and made the move to Atlanta. Through all the ups and downs of applying and interviewing, he has continued to encourage and challenge me, which I really appreciate. I’m really looking forward to spending more time with him (and with Sally and Collins) when they move back to Atlanta in just a few short weeks. Perfect timing for college football season! Happy Birthday, Taylor! Enjoy it, brother!

Emily: Happy birthday, Taylor! What an exciting year ahead for Taylor with starting a new adventure back in the States. I really appreciate how Taylor is always so helpful when it comes to planning a good time for all, but also patient when dealing with our crazy family. Driving us around France and making sure everyone got to do what they wanted was not easy! Taylor handled it with calmness and positivity. It’s been so much fun watching Taylor become the best dad to Collie, and I can’t wait to have many more family meetups soon! We are lucky to have a brother like T!

Kyle:
The thing I love about Taylor most,
Is how he’ll leap from coast to coast.
Across the sea he dared to roam,
To find a life far from his home.

Then came a chance to head back east,
A grand promotion, pay increased.
He took the risk, embraced the change,
Though new beginnings can feel strange.

For life rewards the bold at heart,
Who choose to play a daring part.
So here’s to Taylor, brave and true,
May home bring joy in all you do.

Cathy: Happy 35th birthday, Taylor. These past 4 years in London with Sally, Collins, and you have been such a special time in my life. I am so glad that I have had this time to get to know you as a son-in-law, father, husband to Sally and friend. You exceed all
expectations in all categories. I appreciate the way you have included me in your family activities and trusted me with Collins. I will miss choosing and sharing a good red, our common interest in gardening, afternoons in a pub, home-cooked meals, and an occasional cig! There will undoubtedly be a hole in my heart until we are both in the same country again. Good luck with your new job. You have all the natural talents to succeed. I will eagerly await the news of your new family home in Atlanta and will be there with bells on to help Sally and you get settled. Celebrate heading into a new phase of life and enjoy every minute! I love you so much, Cathy (Peach)

gPa:
T, we are so happy for you and your family and what lies ahead in Atlanta. But first, as Peach mentioned above, I'd like to express how incredibly special these past four years have been. I still can't believe this whole thing came together the way it did, nor how fast these years have flown by. But what a joy it has been. From our first trip together to Murfield and North Berwick, other trips playing golf around the UK, through summer's epic family vacation in France. Thanks for always being so inclusive and respectful of everybody in the room! It is one of your many outstanding characteristics we all admire and appreciate. Keep on, keeping on, T!

Sally: Happy 35th Birthday to my T. It’s been an incredible, milestone year, and I’m so impressed by all of your accomplishments, professionally and personally. You continue to amaze me by being the absolute best dad and husband. I feel fortunate to be your wife. I love that you have chosen to seize opportunity and change this year, setting yourself apart, taking a risk, and ultimately creating a beautiful life for all of us. You’ve done all of this while staying grounded in who you are and continuing to seek wisdom from those around you. I could not be prouder of you and our marriage. Cheers to 35 and our next big adventure!

Happy Birthday to our easy-going man, Trey

Lucy: Trey is easy to love and easy to be around! He’s joyful, positive, and a lot of fun! He heeds each day with peacefulness and thoughtfulness in his words and actions. He’s been patient through a long job search, moving to a new city (again), and with me daily ;) What’s not to love?!? Trey, you are the best partner a girl could ask for, and I’m so lucky to live this life with you!

Taylor: It’s been a big year for Trey. Seeking a new job and moving to a new city takes some big cojones. I'm most impressed by the humility he showed when not only asking me to help (I’m so happy he did) with his career change, but also in his willingness to listen to and take action on my suggestions. It will be a really fun ride for him and for both of us. I’m selfishly happy to have a secret weapon inside USI for my own sales!

Sally: Happy birthday to Trey! You have been the best addition to our family ‘officially’ this year! I love how easy-going and patient you are. You let the game come to you and ask really thoughtful questions. I am thrilled to live in Atlanta with Lucy and you, and spend lots of time together! I hope you're ready for us!

Kyle: Trey has done a wonderful job as the newest member of the family. Need a hand in the kitchen? Trey is there. Want to go for a hike or a workout? Trey is ready to go. I enjoy his “always say yes” attitude. It’s something I need to work on personally, and I can probably learn from him how to have that mentality. This skill will be a secret weapon in starting a new job. A big birthday and a big year with new life in Atlanta.

Emily: Happy birthday, Trey! Trey is invaluable. I really appreciated when the family was here for Easter, and I wasn’t feeling so great, Trey was so willing to jump in and walk Kevin for me or do anything we needed to help! I really appreciated it. I’m so excited for Trey’s new adventure in his job and for Lucy and Trey to get settled in Atlanta!

Cathy: Trey makes the perfect trifecta for our son-in-laws.  The family is complete! I appreciate his calm presence, cooperative attitude, and cheerful spirit. I am so excited for his future in insurance. I know Lucy and Trey will shine in Atlanta. The world is their oyster! Happy Birthday, Trey. I’m so glad you are ours!

gPa: What a remarkable young man we have been blessed with for our third son-in-law. Trey (T-Bar) is thoughtful, bright, kind, and caring. He's quick on his feet when he needs to be, like the time he chased down Lucy's runaway car at the airport. But he also sits back and 'thinks' before he speaks. I'm thrilled for Lucy and Trey and their new start in Atlanta. (Thanks, T, for being such a good mentor!) Selfishly, I love having another stud athlete and sports fan in the mix. I've gone 3-for-3 in that regard!

When Shorty had had enough

It was a glorious Saturday afternoon in Buttercup Valley, the kind of day when even the horses seemed to walk with a little extra swagger. Trotting through the meadow was Amara, a strikingly beautiful young woman with radiant brown skin, cascading black hair that shimmered in the sun, and the kind of elegance that made even butterflies rethink their outfits. She sat atop Rajah, a majestic, shimmering stallion who looked like he could star in shampoo commercials for horses.

Just behind her, struggling to keep up, was Cathy, a freckle-faced whirlwind with a toothy grin, boyish haircut, and a helmet slightly too big for her head. She rode a very small, very opinionated Shetland pony named Shorty, who clearly resented being the least majestic thing in the valley that day.

Cathy waved enthusiastically. “Hey, Amara! Wait up! Shorty’s got tiny legs!”

Amara turned with a serene smile. “You’re doing great, Cathy!”

Shorty, however, had other opinions. He stopped mid-trot, puffed out his tiny chest, and emitted what could only be described as a dramatic snort of protest.

Cathy leaned down and whispered, “Don’t you dare stop now, Shorty. Not in front of her.”

Shorty, apparently fluent in sarcasm, immediately bucked Cathy into the air like a hairy cannonball. She landed in a patch of daisies with a squeal and a sound not unlike a deflating pool float.

Before Cathy could gather her dignity or her helmet, Shorty waddled over, sniffed her… and bit her squarely on the rear end.

“YEEEEOWCH!” Cathy shrieked, springing up like a jack-in-the-box. “YOU FURRY LITTLE JUDAS!”

Amara gasped, one hand over her mouth. “Oh no! Are you okay?!”

Cathy straightened up, grass in her hair and teeth clenched like a cartoon cowboy. “I’m fine. Just bonding with my animal companion… through trauma.”

Shorty stood smugly nearby, munching daisies like he’d just finished his masterpiece.

Rajah gave an elegant snort of disapproval and flicked his mane dramatically. Amara dismounted gracefully and helped Cathy up. “You’re brave,” she said kindly, brushing dirt from Cathy’s back.

“Yeah,” Cathy muttered, glaring at Shorty. “And apparently chewy.”

And from that day on, the legend of Cathy and the Butt-Biting Pony echoed through Buttercup Valley—proof that while you can pick your horse, you can’t always choose your dignity.

Happy Birthday Emily: 'Sticking to it' at 31 and going strong

Kyle:

I love so many things about you, but most of all, I already love that I will get to see you as a mother of our child. Every day that I watch you go through this tough pregnancy makes me more proud of how much of a badass you are. It will all be worth it soon as we enter our next chapter of life together. I love you so much, and please make sure our kid gets your golf swing.

Lucy: I love that I’ve shared a similar life phase the past few years with my sister Emily! Being six years younger, things are not always the same for us, but in the past few years, we have both gotten married, been dog moms, worked from home, and moved to new cities! I lean on Emily for everything and call her multiple times daily for advice in every area! She is the best sounding board and storyteller, and always makes me laugh! I love you, E, and I love being able to talk to you morning, noon, and night. I can’t wait for all of the exciting things ahead for you and Kyle (even if I won’t quite be in the exact same season anymore). Happy birthday!!

Trey: I appreciate how easygoing and fun Emily is. She always looks on the bright side and brings a positive perspective to any situation. Emily is the kind of person you always want in your corner because she’s a great encourager who genuinely cares for others. It seems like she calls Lucy almost daily to check in on us, which is really kind. Happy Birthday, Emily!

Sally: I love so much about Emily. This year, I’ll focus on the fact that she is always level-headed and remains pragmatic in almost all situations. As we know, this quality doesn’t come as naturally to me, and I am (and always have been) lucky to have Em to set an example of how to be “cool”. Emily’s demeanour puts me and those around her at ease and makes her someone people are drawn to be around. She attracts friends of all ages (and species)! She is going to be the best mom to the lucky little one on the way. It makes me emotional to think about my baby sister joining me on this journey called motherhood. We have walked through most of life’s stages together in tandem - I think this one will be the best yet. I love you, Em, and am so proud to be your sister.

Taylor: I’m always grateful for Emily’s patience and kindness when we visit. She makes us feel at home and has everything ready to make it seamless. I really enjoyed spending two rounds at Pine Valley with her, away from everything and focused on a great golf experience together. She handled being the only woman there in stride, as she handles everything!

Mum: Emily is a warrior with the spirit of an angel. She is thoughtful and kind to everyone- family, friends, pups and babies. Everyone loves hanging out with her because she is just plain fun! I love how Emily checks in with me daily and how sweet her knitting passion has her making quilts for lucky babies. I’m so excited for Emily, Kyle, and the baby on the way. I think it would be a hoot to have Emily as a mom. You’re going to nail it, Em! I love you!

gPa: What an amazing daughter I have in Emily Page! Emily, you have been such a joy through all phases of life, and like others above, I admire how you go about things. You have this unique ability not to take yourself too seriously, yet you are incredibly productive and efficient. It shows in your work, in your family, and in your friendships. You will be an amazing mother, and you know we will do all we can to support you on that journey. Thanks for being brave enough to make a Pine Valley Golf Club trip with all men. I will treasure that trip and that golf for the rest of my life! Keep sticking to it, Emily!

Happy Birthday Kyle 'two z's two t's' Cazzetta

Emily: Kyle is resourceful and hardworking. His love shows in his handy yard work, early morning Costco runs leading to a weekly stocked fridge, and walking Kevin even after his long days at work. I can’t wait to see what Kyle’s 32nd year brings as we enter our next adventure of parenthood. How he loves Collins, Cameron, and Kelly already speaks volumes to how prepared he is to become a Dad. I’m so excited for a kid to love Kyle as much as Kevin and I do.

Lucy: One thing I love about Kyle is that he remembers everything and goes out of his way to accommodate each of us. For example, over Easter, Kyle gave me a crash course on frying eggs without sticking to the pan because he remembered I texted him about it months beforehand. Kyle is thoughtful and attentive, and I can’t wait to see how those qualities will serve him in the year ahead!

Trey: One thing I’ve noticed about Kyle is that he really enjoys giving birthday affirmations and spends all year thinking about the perfect note to write for his family members. That means a lot. Word on the street is that not only does he love giving them, but he really loves receiving them too. I also admire how generous Kyle is and how he’s always willing to take care of his family, whether calling to check in or making a five-course meal. I want to be like Kyle when I grow up. Happy Birthday!

Sally: I love how Kyle makes such an effort to stay caught up with everyone in the family's “happenings.” With all of us living in different places, Kyle makes it a point to stay connected and caught up. I also LOVE what an incredible chef and entertainer Kyle is. Our Easter coursed Nobu lunch was beyond delicious; no detail was missed. Thanks, Kyle, for being a great brother-in-law and friend.

Taylor: Kyle is really encouraging, and I always enjoy our Saturday chats. I’ll share a message that I really appreciate receiving from Kyle.

“I can tell you from my experience it was fun to get out and experience something different, but there is no feeling like a homecoming. We are very excited over here because Greenwich to Atlanta is so quick and easy from our tiny airport."

As we prepare for a big change, I’m really glad to have his support and look forward to spending more time with him in person when we move back.

Mum: Happy Birthday to Kyle! I appreciate all that you do for the entire family. You make each of us feel loved and important with a personal phone call or a grand meal. Your chicken parm with vodka sauce is world-class. I hope I always get that for my birthday. I’m so excited for you, Emily, and your baby. I can’t wait to see the vibrant father you will be.

gPa or is it pa-pa (softly): I, like others have noted, am so happy we have Kyle to keep us all on our toes. His efforts to connect through quick phone chats always make my day. I also enjoy his love for golf course architecture, and I can't wait to play more golf through the years ahead. His chip-in for birdie on number four at Pine Valley will forever be etched in my memory, especially with his caddy trying to hand him the putter! Keep being you, Kyle!

Happy Birthday Sally Wilkinson!

Taylor:
Life with Sal means that I rarely wake up with the same furniture or design layout as the day before, in my home and my life. As much as my OCD self may want to keep our life organised and clean, that’s just not how it works with Sal. Our world is a canvas for her, and while I may never get used to it, I love the “roll with it” mentality that she wears on her sleeve. She’s everything I am not, but I love all the differences the most.
I look forward to continuing to parent together and having fun doing it wherever we are in the world.

Lucy: Sally has worn many hats in my life - most famously as my sister and my friend, but also a notable carpool driver, babysitter, dance teacher, and design consultant. But this year, we’ve added a new role to the mix as I’ve gotten to know Sally as my boss. While some might advise against working with family, I have loved getting a closer look at all things Sally Wilkinson Design and growing in a professional relationship with my big sister. It affirmed everything I knew about Sally and her wild creativity but expanded my admiration even more. Sally is a patient teacher, thorough and thoughtful in her craft and a fun talent to learn from. I love you, boss lady Sally! Happy birthday!

Trey: One thing I admire about Sally is how hard she works. She's giving 110% effort to be the best wife, mom, sister, and business owner. I also love that she brought Lucy to SWD to help with graphic design work. Not only does it help us pay the bills (Ha!), but more importantly, it allows Lucy to see how a successful small business operates. Lucy learns a lot from Sally daily, which is truly a gift. Happy Birthday, Sally!

Emily: Sally/SalPal - my favourite older sister! This year, I’ve been obsessed with Sally’s sense of humour. She always has a new, hilarious story about Collins, and I love how she lets everything roll in motherhood. Sally has taught me so much about being a new mom, and she’s been incredible at navigating this first. She hasn’t lost part of what makes her cool and fun. I am so proud of Sally’s booming business and the fact that her work has been published! It’s incredible! I know the Wilkinsons have a big year of adventure ahead, but Sal will navigate it brilliantly! I can’t wait to see all the goodies she brings to ATL from London. We can’t wait to be a quick 2-hour flight from Atlanta! There are so many fun times to come! Happy birthday!

Kyle: I love that you can show love towards others, but you’re also never afraid to talk a little trash. It’s always fun when we sit around a dinner table. I don’t need to talk about how you’re killing it with your business or your baby; you already know how good you are at that. I just look forward to our next fun dinner together!

Peach: Sally is amazing. I am awed by her ability to juggle her growing career, family life, and friendships with such finesse. She treats everyone with respect, kindness and generosity. She shares her talents by making their homes beautiful. Sally is a natural mom- hilarious, kind and real. She’s a thoughtful daughter, wife, sister and boss. Keep up the good work, Sally. Stay balanced, and don’t forget to take care of yourself. You are doing great! Happy Birthday. I love you!

gPa: Sally continues to forge an impressive path as an inspiring first daughter, a supportive sister, a caring wife, and a wonderful mother to Collins. She manages it all while building her business and brand. What I admire most is her positive attitude and her eagerness to push boundaries into areas that can be uncomfortable yet offer opportunities for learning and growth. I appreciate how Sally checks in on me frequently. She has no agenda; she is a thoughtful daughter checking on her dad! I will always treasure the unique experiences we have shared over these nearly four years living abroad in London.
