Hey girls,
I am not sure what this has to do with Women Power Wednesday, but the subject is Professional Development. Mom took two classes on Saturday, as she is required to take a certain number of refresher classes each year in order to keep her PT license current. She took a course on Ethics and she also visited the Cadaver Lab at Texas State. She said the smell alone was enough to bring back too many memories of long days in the lab when she was in college.
We have professional development discussions with our bosses at Autodesk, in order to identify areas in which you want to learn and grow. My main goal this year is to learn to be more effective at demonstrating a global perspective. So one of the things I am doing is taking an on-line course from Coursera. The course is titled: 'A History of the World Since 1300' and it is taught by a Princeton University professor. I am one of over 70,000 people who signed up for the free on-line course! The class begins next week.
So, in a way, we are all still in school . . .
Love you,
Dad
NUGGETS FROM DAD began in the fall of 2010 when our oldest daughter left for college. (Make it a Great Monday; Stay Whole Tuesday; Woman Power Wednesday; Make Anything Thursday; and Fit as a Fiddle Friday.) Fourteen years later, we have a UGA grad, a SCAD grad, a Fightin' Texas Aggie grad, and 1500 nuggets!
