eBug's Birthday Affirmations

 Sally:

1. I love how Emily is so loyal. She is loyal to her family, her friends, and her co-workers. If you are in her circle, you are set for life. She is the definition of a true friend to so many people - even the Asian ladies at the factories. She gives people the benefit of the doubt always, and is able to see people and situations with nonjudgemental perspective always. She is sensitive, knows when to keep a secret and when to share one. This makes her an amazing sister to Lucy and me. If I had to bury a body she would be the first person I would call. 

2. I love how Emily always knows how to make me laugh. She doesn’t hold much back and it is so refreshing and hilarious. My favorite moments with her are when she says something totally out of the blue that you can tell she’s been thinking about for a long time. She is not afraid to be exactly who she is. I love her quirkiness, spontaneity, and dance moves. Thanks for keeping us all on our toes! 

Taylor:

1. Emily is so good at lightening the mood in any situation. She doesn't take life (or herself) too seriously and finds humor in the small things. It is fun to be around her when she is with the family and really gets on a roll. She is fun loving and adventurous, always up for a good time. She helps keep Sally sane when life gets serious, and I am especially thankful for that. 

2. From Savannah to New York, Emily has been a great hostess for Sally and me. On our several trips to Savannah she introduced us to people, places, and things we would never have experienced otherwise. It was fun to live like a local. In New York, E has carved out a neat niche in the fashion world and introduced us to her work in the Garment District. I never would have had the experiences in either city without Emily.

Mom:

1. I admire how Emily has worked hard and made a place for herself in her job and in NYC. She has made new friends, nurtured old friends and tackled and solved all kinds of issues at work with determination and kindness. Keep smiling Emily, you’re going places!

2. I love how Emily calls me every morning and most evenings on her way to / from work. It is so special to get a view of her life. Her sense of humor is priceless and she starts my day with a smile. Love you Em!

Lucy:

1. One thing I love about Em is her confidence and her ability to bring out confidence in other people. She is always unapologetically herself in the very best way. She is the life of the party but always makes sure everyone around her feels welcomed and comfortable. I’m so thankful for the many times when she’s helped boost my confidence and taught me how to be as cool as she is!!

2. I love how passionate Emily is about the things she cares about. It has been so cool to be her little sister and watch her work hard at her many talents and rise to every occasion. She knows what she wants and she works incredibly hard to achieve her goals. I’m so proud to call her my big sister. I love you Meme!!  

Dad:

1. I am super proud to see how happy Emily is with her career path and how much she has achieved in a short time in The Big Apple. I love it that she found a home at Hatch and that she can get so many diverse and unique experiences in the fashion business by working for a smaller company. Keep it up Emily and great things will continue to happen for your career.

2. I love how Emily has found a special friend in Kyle and how those two enjoy so many different types of New York experiences . . . Yankees vs Red Sox, Chipping and Putting, Yale Club, Rangers Hockey, Restaurants, Parks, and the beauty of up State NY.

Sally Singletary Wilkinson - Happy Birthday

Two from T:

1. I love having Sally as my wife. She is so supportive of me in all that I do - at work, in hobbies, and in our personal lives. She enjoys looking for ways to make things better. I also love that she is such a great cook! 

2. Sally is the most generous person I know. She is always the first to volunteer, and always has time for anyone and everyone who needs anything. She loves to give of herself. It is a daily occurrence to find that Sal has sought out opportunities to give. 

Two from Mom:

1. I admire the way that Sally juggles friends, family, work and a healthy lifestyle. She pays attention to nurturing relationships, creating beautiful living spaces and taking care of herself. Sally always makes you feel that she is happy that you are in her life. I love it when she calls me each day to check in and share her life with me. 


2. I will always treasure the months that Sally and I worked on the wedding together. It was not always easy to make decisions and compromise, but with her vision and style, the end product was something I’ll never forget. I also have never seen so much love shared amongst all guests at a wedding. Sally and Taylor love others and others truly love them.

1. I love how passionate Sally is about everything. She is always very excited and thoughtful about all aspects of her work life as well as her life with her family and friends. She is good at what she does and it is so clear that she enjoys it, making it so much more fun to watch her grow. 

2. I love Sal's creativity. She can make anything work. I admire her ability to see beauty and potential in all things and then be able to morph them to be exactly what she wants. I hope I can be as cool as her one day. 

Two from E:

1. I love Sally's drive and dedication. She is always working so hard whether it is getting her house ready for her sisters or finding the perfect outfit for an event or making an appetizer for a crowd. She puts 100% into everything she does. This is also inspiring in her job where she continues to work hard and build incredible relationships.

2. I love Sally's charisma. Everyone who meets Sally is instantly infatuated with her. She is hilarious and cute and has a way of making people around her smile. I love that all of my friends love Sally and want her to visit often! Love you sister.

1. Sally is an amazing first child and daughter. She goes through life with a sense of adventure and loves to make the world around her unique and beautiful. She challenges herself and others to be the best they can be. She greets you with a warm, genuine smile that is infectious and caring.

2. Sally checks in with her mom everyday, which means a lot to both Mom and Dad, as we prepare to transition to a new phase of life. She also makes both of her sisters a priority. The love and support they show each other is a great gift to her parents. She also brought a great son-in-law into our life. What a blessing!

1. I love Mom for so many reasons. She is the most incredible, determined, energized, generous person. She never gives up on us and helping us achieve our dreams - whether its with wedding planning, college searching, problem solving, etc. She is always thinking about how she can help each of her girls succeed and be the best we can be. She has more energy and enthusiasm than any other mom I know. 

2. I love how Mom doesn't take herself or life too seriously. She can find humor in almost all situations and isn't afraid to laugh at herself which is such an attractive quality. She never says no to a good time and remembers what is important in life. I am constantly seeking her perspective and advise because I know it will be well-rounded and promote balance and fun!

2 from Lucy:

1. I love how hard working mama is. The care and dedication she has for each one of her patients amazes me. Outside of her job she works even harder to make sure she has 3 happy and satisfied girls. She's always planning events and going on trips, on top of being a super mom at home doing all the normal jobs moms do. She is the best!! 

2. I love mom's sense of humor. We've gotten so close over the past 6 years with just us at home and I love laughing with her!! She's hilarious and I will miss spending time with her so much next year!  

2 from Emily:

1. My mother is the best mom in the world. She is always there when I call, she always wants to talk to me, and she is always understanding. No matter what is going on in my life I know I have a friend to call and talk to about it.

2. I admire how many things mom can juggle at one time. She renovates a house and plans a wedding. She has a sinus infection and goes on high school spring break. She goes to work with babies all day and then goes to Dell match play. She is incredible at multi tasking and I love her so much for it!

2 for M I L : 

1. I love how my mother in law is the life of the party. She can't stand to miss out on anything that's involved. She is always willing to give more than she takes in that regard. 

2. Cathy is a huge supporter to Sally, Emily and Lucy. I see it firsthand with Sally, who probably calls twice a day. She held down the fort and carried out plans in Austin for the wedding during 2017 and I am sure will be constantly doing so in our future. It is so nice to have a supporter like her.

2 for my bride of almost 30 years:

1. I love my bride because she is truly a great life partner. She gives all of herself to her children and to me. She is a great friend to her close friends. She knows what she wants and how to get it.

2. I love mom because she is book smart and street smart. She knows how to navigate through the world without getting wrapped up in the small stuff that doesn't matter. She is my rock!

Two for Lu - 18!

Emily: 

1. I love how Lucy makes everyone around her so happy. She is so mature, mellow, and fun that people love to hang out with her and just be around her. Lucy has so many good friends and I am lucky to have her as a sister. It was a pleasure to be co-maids of honor at Sally's wedding. 

2. Lucy is so hardworking. She has put so much work and energy into her high school career and I am so proud of her for always juggling school, dance, friends, and church. I can't wait to see how she grows this summer at camp! Love you LucyGoose.

Taylor:

1. Lucy is consistently positive. She is always looking for ways to make a positive impact, whether that is through church, work or school. She is unafraid to dream big and take others along for the ride, even as far as doing mission work abroad. I admire how she puts her heart into all that she does. She was such a positive light in our wedding, bringing infectious joy and fun the whole time. 

2. I love that Lucy has a very mature, calm, and collected approach to life. She takes all of the craziness in stride and approaches every day as it comes. Lucy is very thoughtful and plans well, remaining level headed even if things don't go to plan - and with a whirlwind of activities, and a family that seeks out change, this is a great way to be. 

Mom:

1. I love Lucy because she is so much fun for me to hang around with and fun to watch hang around with her friends. I am so blessed that she invited me on her spring break with her so that I could get to know all the people that she loves so dearly.

2. I love how prayerful that Lucy is. It is amazing to watch her each day open her Bible and read and then take notes on the lesson for the day. She always makes time for her spiritual side while exceeding with friendships and school work. She's a wonderful girl and daughter and I'm so happy to call her mine. 

Sally:

1. I love how Lucy stays so true to herself and her beliefs. She is dedicated to God and that faith shines through in all that she does. Lucy is solid, wise beyond her years, and such a role model for me and many others. 

2. I love how Lucy handles being the only one at home. You are the most independent, driven, and hilarious baby of the family and we all learn so much from you. You don’t take yourself to seriously and laugh at all of us (rightfully so). I don’t know what our family would do without the beautiful, talented, smart, funny Goose. 

Dad:

1. I heard a motivational speaker during our sales meeting this week and he talked about how growth only comes when we get outside of our comfort zone. I love and admire how Lucy is not afraid to put herself out there, to lean into a challenge and to grow in so many ways.

2. I love how Lucy knows how to handle life when it throws curve balls. She understands that YOU can choose to reframe situations that may not be exactly what you expected and turn closed doors into open doors. That is a gift that will allow her to accomplish many things in life.

2. I HAVE ALWAYS APPRECIATED PAGE'S LOVE OF SPORTS. IT HAS KEPT OUR MARRIAGE FUN AND COMPETITIVE IN THE RIGHT WAY. IT'S IMPORTANT TO COMPETE AND THEN SOMETIMES CHEER FOR THE SAME TEAM. HE IS A TRUE GAMER.

1. I LOVE HOW PAGE IS ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A WAY TO SUPPORT AND CONNECT PEOPLE. HE OFFERED TO CONNECT OUR WAITRESS AT HOUSTON'S WITH NBC IN AN ATTEMPT TO HELP HER SUCCEED IN HER ACTING CAREER. THESE THINGS NEVER GO UNNOTICED, YET RECOGNITION IS THE FARTHEST THING FROM WHAT HE WANTS.

2. PAGE GETS SUCH A THRILL WHEN WATCHING OR PARTICIPATING IN SPORTS. IT TAKES ME BACK TO THE FEELING OF BEING A KID AND ENAMORED WITH THE SIMPLE THINGS LIKE COMPETITION AND FUN. I ENJOY BEING AROUND SOMEONE SO FULL OF ENERGY FOR ANYTHING TO DO WITH SPORTS, AND THE FEELING IS CONTAGIOUS!

SALLY:

1. I LOVE DAD'S ABILITY TO ALWAYS INCLUDE. HE IS CONSTANTLY THINKING OF OTHERS AND WHO HE CAN CONNECT OR INTRODUCE. HE IS A GOOD LISTENER AND REMEMBERS TO FOLLOW UP WITH PEOPLE ON WHAT THEY HAVE MENTIONED TO HIM IN PAST CONVERSATIONS. HE PROVIDES AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF A LEADER IN THIS WAY FOR OUR FAMILY AND FOR MANY OTHERS. EVERYONE WANTS TO BE FRIENDS WITH DAD.

Two Things for T - Happy Birthday BIL / SIL

Emily: (1) I love how Taylor is very thoughtful. He always thinks about his actions and words before he speaks and adds a lot to a conversation. (2) I love how Taylor is always my drinking buddy. It's nice to have a bro in the fam! We can't wait!

Lucy: (1) I love how Taylor is so chill. It takes a lot to put up with us crazy sisters and our entire extended family, but he's always a calming presence in the midst of the chaos and a great addition to the family. (2) I love how T is so easy to talk to. I love our car rides when I drive Sally and Taylor around Austin and when we get to just hang out! I love you T! Happy birthday future BIL!

Sally: (1) I love how Taylor is wise beyond his years. He has an understanding of what is truly important and worth worry or investment and what is not. He's the best advice giver and extremely tactical and practical. Those traits will take him very far. He is looked up to by our friends (and me) and I'm so excited I get to be his First Lady. (2) I love how Taylor has a quirky and unexpected sense of humor that catches people off guard. He is often unaware of how funny he is, which makes it even better.

MIL: (1) I appreciate Taylor's patience and love toward our family. He has a knack for keeping quiet when necessary and speaking up when needed. (2) I also love receiving Taylor's thank you notes. The notes are genuine and thoughtful. There is absolutely nothing better than receiving a thank you note from Taylor. I am so happy that T will soon be a welcomed member/ male to our family! Happy Birthday Taylor!

FIL: (1) I am thrilled to be getting such a fine young man as my new golfing buddy and another male voice in the family. It makes me super happy to see how he treats Sally and how much he cares about the things in life that are the most important. (2) I appreciate Tayior's business acumen and unique path that he has carved out for himself inside of Aon. He is going places for sure and it will be fun to cheer him on!
