Happy 26th Lucy May: We love you

Taylor: It’s been wonderful having Lucy in town. I really can’t believe that she lives here in Atlanta, just down the road from us. I can’t imagine how we would have done our life here without having her (and Trey) nearby. She is so generous with her time and always willing to pick up and help with anything and everything that we need, and we need a lot of help these days!

The tradition we have created of all meeting up at Little Rey and braving the chaos together. In fact, I just love the tradition of getting together in general. I can’t wait to continue to spend time together. Love you!

Peach: Happy Birthday, Lucy! You have always been such a thoughtful and kind soul, and I hope you know how deeply that is seen and appreciated by all of us. You give so much of your time and energy to the people you love. Whether it’s helping your sisters through pregnancies, moves, and babysitting, or simply being there with encouragement and support, you show up again and again with generosity and grace.

Your creativity is another beautiful gift you share with the world. The stationery, wedding invitations, baby announcements, and party invitations you design bring so much joy to people, especially our family, who are lucky to have your talent whenever we ask. You put your heart into everything you create.

I admire your strength and faith, and the way you stepped into a new chapter by moving to a new city with Trey. You handle life’s changes with such courage and calm, and you do it all without complaining, just steady, faithful, and loving.

You are not only an amazing daughter but also a wonderful friend to so many. I feel so grateful that we just spent such a special week together in London with friends. Those memories mean so much to me.

Lucy, you make life brighter for everyone around you. I hope this year brings you the same kindness, joy, and love that you give so freely to others.

Happy Birthday. I love you so much.

Emily: Lucy has been such a rock for me during the last year and she really showed up for me through my entire pregnancy journey! I love our daily phone calls while walking the dogs, where we discuss anything and everything. Lucy is supportive AND such a doer! She helped throw me the most beautiful baby shower, helped over Christmas time once Vince arrived, and I know everyone could go on with how helpful she can be. I love that Lu is my best friend and can’t wait for all that is to come in her 26th year!

Sally: I love that this year I’ve gotten to experience living in the same city as Lucy for the first time since 2010. Fifteen years later, it has been a joy to be right down the road from each other. She continues to be the best sister, aunt, friend, and work colleague I could ask for! I’m proud of the way she is taking Atlanta by storm and letting the game come to her. She has handled a big change with a lot of grace and patience, and I look up to that as we navigate change ourselves. Having Lucy and Trey in Atlanta has been the silver lining of our year. We love you both. Happy birthday, Lucy!!

gPa: Wow, LuLu, it's 26 times around the sun. You are so special to me and to all of our family. Your steadiness, intuition, and fortitude are such a gift and an inspiration. Thanks for sending Trey to my TEDx Talk - that meant the world to me. Thanks for helping Sal and T so much with baby Collins and Sal with her business. Meanwhile, you continue to flourish as an entrepreneur and a creator. Thanks for being my daughter! I love you with all my heart and soul.

Kyle: Nothing shows my love more than how impressed I am with your work every time I get to see it. From wedding invites to custom dance floors and even custom wrapping paper. Every time I see a new design or project, I’m truly blown away and show it to everyone. Keep up the good work, and I cannot wait to see what new projects there are for this year.

Trey: Lucy is my best friend in the entire world. Through all the highs and lows of moving to two new cities and states in three years, she has been steadfast, encouraging, and joyful. She is a constant reminder of God's faithfulness and goodness each day, and I am so thankful for her.

I am also so proud of how she has grown her business while balancing her work with Sally Wilkinson Design and being the best dog mom ever. I honestly do not know how she handles our crazy dog every single day.... She is the best!!!

I love you so much, Lucy, and I cannot wait to see what year 26 brings!

Happy 26th LuLu: from one word to one number

Hey boo. Happy birthday - NUMBER 26.

Last year, I asked everyone to share a word that reminded them of Lucy, and I created a beautiful heart-shaped Word-arama in your honor. It was thoughtful. Reflective. Slightly emotional.

However, I later learned you felt shortchanged because everyone else received full sentences. So this year I’ve taken things up a notch.

I asked everyone to send me a number that reminds them of Lucy.

No limits. Just a number.

  • Some picked meaningful numbers.
  • Some picked random ones.
  • One person may have misunderstood the assignment entirely.
  • One might be a WiFi code

Anyway, please enjoy your very special 26th Birthday Number-rama.

You’re welcome, and I love you!

Anniversary: 37 times around the sun today

Happy Anniversary to the love of my life and the mum of three most amazing daughters! Is there anybody, anywhere . . . more capable, more talented, more multifaceted, more beautiful, more full of life, more energetic, more FUN . . . than Catherine Malcom Singletary?

A 37th Anniversary Ditty from gPageS:

She’s a doer and a maker

A giver, not a taker

She’s a friend to all

And boy, can she play ball

She’s got a wild side

And a lot of Georgia pride

She’s my workout pal

An adventurous gal

The very BEST Peach

Looking damn good

On the beach!

A beauty

And a cutie

And she’s all mine

My partner in crime

Until the end of our time!

Happy 35th Birthday T!

Lucy: T is 35!!! This year, I am especially thankful for Taylor’s willingness to help Trey get connected here in Atlanta and coach him through his interview process. Most of the time, I get to see Taylor live in our “Singletary-centred” world surrounded by our friends and family. But, as Trey was networking with T’s friends, we got a taste of what it would be like to be living in Taylor’s world here in Atlanta. T is deeply admired and respected (I think at one point referred to as an insurance God 😉). We are lucky to have him in our family, and I can’t wait to be in the same city!

Trey: Taylor has been such a great mentor to me over the past year as I’ve transitioned into a new job and made the move to Atlanta. Through all the ups and downs of applying and interviewing, he has continued to encourage and challenge me, which I really appreciate. I’m really looking forward to spending more time with him (and with Sally and Collins) when they move back to Atlanta in just a few short weeks. Perfect timing for college football season! Happy Birthday, Taylor! Enjoy it, brother!

Emily: Happy birthday, Taylor! What an exciting year ahead for Taylor with starting a new adventure back in the States. I really appreciate how Taylor is always so helpful when it comes to planning a good time for all, but also patient when dealing with our crazy family. Driving us around France and making sure everyone got to do what they wanted was not easy! Taylor handled it with calmness and positivity. It’s been so much fun watching Taylor become the best dad to Collie, and I can’t wait to have many more family meetups soon! We are lucky to have a brother like T!

Kyle:
The thing I love about Taylor most,
Is how he’ll leap from coast to coast.
Across the sea he dared to roam,
To find a life far from his home.

Then came a chance to head back east,
A grand promotion, pay increased.
He took the risk, embraced the change,
Though new beginnings can feel strange.

For life rewards the bold at heart,
Who choose to play a daring part.
So here’s to Taylor, brave and true,
May home bring joy in all you do.

Cathy: Happy 35th birthday, Taylor. These past 4 years in London with Sally, Collins, and you have been such a special time in my life. I am so glad that I have had this time to get to know you as a son-in-law, father, husband to Sally and friend. You exceed all
expectations in all categories. I appreciate the way you have included me in your family activities and trusted me with Collins. I will miss choosing and sharing a good red, our common interest in gardening, afternoons in a pub, home-cooked meals, and an occasional cig! There will undoubtedly be a hole in my heart until we are both in the same country again. Good luck with your new job. You have all the natural talents to succeed. I will eagerly await the news of your new family home in Atlanta and will be there with bells on to help Sally and you get settled. Celebrate heading into a new phase of life and enjoy every minute! I love you so much, Cathy (Peach)

gPa:
T, we are so happy for you and your family and what lies ahead in Atlanta. But first, as Peach mentioned above, I'd like to express how incredibly special these past four years have been. I still can't believe this whole thing came together the way it did, nor how fast these years have flown by. But what a joy it has been. From our first trip together to Murfield and North Berwick, other trips playing golf around the UK, through summer's epic family vacation in France. Thanks for always being so inclusive and respectful of everybody in the room! It is one of your many outstanding characteristics we all admire and appreciate. Keep on, keeping on, T!

Sally: Happy 35th Birthday to my T. It’s been an incredible, milestone year, and I’m so impressed by all of your accomplishments, professionally and personally. You continue to amaze me by being the absolute best dad and husband. I feel fortunate to be your wife. I love that you have chosen to seize opportunity and change this year, setting yourself apart, taking a risk, and ultimately creating a beautiful life for all of us. You’ve done all of this while staying grounded in who you are and continuing to seek wisdom from those around you. I could not be prouder of you and our marriage. Cheers to 35 and our next big adventure!

Happy Birthday to our easy-going man, Trey

Lucy: Trey is easy to love and easy to be around! He’s joyful, positive, and a lot of fun! He heeds each day with peacefulness and thoughtfulness in his words and actions. He’s been patient through a long job search, moving to a new city (again), and with me daily ;) What’s not to love?!? Trey, you are the best partner a girl could ask for, and I’m so lucky to live this life with you!

Taylor: It’s been a big year for Trey. Seeking a new job and moving to a new city takes some big cojones. I'm most impressed by the humility he showed when not only asking me to help (I’m so happy he did) with his career change, but also in his willingness to listen to and take action on my suggestions. It will be a really fun ride for him and for both of us. I’m selfishly happy to have a secret weapon inside USI for my own sales!

Sally: Happy birthday to Trey! You have been the best addition to our family ‘officially’ this year! I love how easy-going and patient you are. You let the game come to you and ask really thoughtful questions. I am thrilled to live in Atlanta with Lucy and you, and spend lots of time together! I hope you're ready for us!

Kyle: Trey has done a wonderful job as the newest member of the family. Need a hand in the kitchen? Trey is there. Want to go for a hike or a workout? Trey is ready to go. I enjoy his “always say yes” attitude. It’s something I need to work on personally, and I can probably learn from him how to have that mentality. This skill will be a secret weapon in starting a new job. A big birthday and a big year with new life in Atlanta.

Emily: Happy birthday, Trey! Trey is invaluable. I really appreciated when the family was here for Easter, and I wasn’t feeling so great, Trey was so willing to jump in and walk Kevin for me or do anything we needed to help! I really appreciated it. I’m so excited for Trey’s new adventure in his job and for Lucy and Trey to get settled in Atlanta!

Cathy: Trey makes the perfect trifecta for our son-in-laws.  The family is complete! I appreciate his calm presence, cooperative attitude, and cheerful spirit. I am so excited for his future in insurance. I know Lucy and Trey will shine in Atlanta. The world is their oyster! Happy Birthday, Trey. I’m so glad you are ours!

gPa: What a remarkable young man we have been blessed with for our third son-in-law. Trey (T-Bar) is thoughtful, bright, kind, and caring. He's quick on his feet when he needs to be, like the time he chased down Lucy's runaway car at the airport. But he also sits back and 'thinks' before he speaks. I'm thrilled for Lucy and Trey and their new start in Atlanta. (Thanks, T, for being such a good mentor!) Selfishly, I love having another stud athlete and sports fan in the mix. I've gone 3-for-3 in that regard!
