Odds and Ends
- Check out this article on Autodesk Sketchbook. Certainly something for you girls to be aware of and maybe a good tool for practicing your digital sketching capabilities.
- Emily has a chance to listen to Under Armour speak to SCAD students tonight about career opportunities with UA. She may not be able to get to the session because of her drawing class, but really cool that SCAD brings in these types of companies to speak to the students.
- Check out this golf shot from Pine Valley in Crump Cup, which took place a couple of days after we left.
- Uncle Ricky says SME Branding is an interesting company to check out and would be a good company for SCAD to have on campus.
- Sally needs new running shoes . . . wore out the last pair.
- I had jury duty today but did not get selected in the 'voir dire' process.
- Found my keys . . . Go Tar Heels!

Stay Whole Tuesday
Hey girls,
I hope you guys are feeling better today? I have been proud of both of you this fall for not over-extending yourselves and for staying healthy. I know there are a lot of trips and events that come up and I appreciate that you both have said 'no' to some of these opportunities. This is important both from a health standpoint and from a financial standpoint.
Stay whole,
Dad

A great cover letter
![]() |
Burke & Page |
Sally did a great job on her cover letter to Cathy Kincaid in Dallas. I have posted the text from the letter below.
This is one of several firms that Sally is pursuing for possible work this summer. Notice how she is building a unique personal story around her passions for the design business. I really like the way the Burke & Page Tumblr is coming along as well.
Sorry to hear both college girls were a bit under the weather this morning. Mom is battling a sinus infection here in Austin, so three Singletarys down for the count today. Lucy seemed good when I picked her up from school and dropped her at dance. In spite of the aches and pains, let's make it a great Monday night!
Here is Sally's cover letter . . .
