Cathy - 55 today and still the best mom and wife

Sally:
1. I love how mom is never too busy to talk on the phone even though she has so much going on. She works so hard to communicate and genuinely cares about what we all have going on. She is selfless.
2. I love how mom loves to laugh and is always the life of the party no matter what group of people she is with. She is a light to all.

Emily:

1. I love Mom because she is always just a phone dial away. Whether she calls me on purpose or her phone "magically" calls, she is always ready to listen to what's going on with me.
2. I also love Mom because she's a ton of fun. All of my friends love her and we always have a good time when we get to see each other. And I miss her every day.

Lucy:
1. I love how mom is always always pushing me in school to do my best and make the best grades I possibly can. No matter how annoying it is, I know she does it because she has my best interest in mind and wants me to be successful.
2. I love how she is always there when I come home from a bad day at school or dance to talk and make me feel better. She always finds a way to find the good in a bad situation.

Dad:
1. I love how mom can remember things, like when I was locked out of the house at 1AM and I called her in Florida and she remembered the random code to the lock box even though she was half asleep.
2.  I love how mom makes our house so welcoming and inviting for family, friends, and even complete strangers who occasionally rent our house so we can take a trip or pay for college.

Lucy is 15 Today - WOW!

Sally: 1. I love Lucy's confidence and style, the way she carries herself so maturely and has been wise beyond her years her whole life.
2. I love Lucy's dedication and work ethic. She is a beautiful dancer and has so much heart.

Emily: 1. I love how mature Lucy is. So witty and I love catching up with what is going on in each other's lives and how often we relate on things. Especially when we brought back the old race to see who can get their homework done the fastest! 2. I love and hate how much I miss Lucy. I wish we could be closer but I know that you have a great group of friends which is something that I admire about you. 3. I love Lucy's forehead
Dad: 1. I love how good it made me feel yesterday when (neighbor) Mr. Ted Fleron told me how much he enjoys walking and talking to Lucy. He said, "She is a very impressive and nice young lady!" 2. I love how she always says FABSAW back to me in the mornings and how she likes to close her eyes and say her prayers at night. 3. I love how she puts on her Tarheel gear when we play the damn dookies.
Mom: 1. I love Lucy's choice of friends and how they are all unique individuals. She surrounds herself with lots of love and positive people. 2. I love how Lucy came to my room and gave me a big hug this morning on her birthday!

10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord)

Sweet picture of Lucy and her friends having breakfast prepared by my bride. This song in church today brought some tears, especially lyrics in bold. Made me think of the choir in my dad's hospital room. Listen here.

Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name

The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes

[Chorus]
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name

You're rich in love, and You're slow to anger
Your name is great, and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find

[Chorus]
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name

And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore

[Chorus x2]
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name

Jesus, I'll worship Your holy name
Lord, I'll worship Your holy name

Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name
Jesus, I'll worship Your holy name
I'll worship Your holy name

Spring forward - Happy Sunday

Philippe Petit - Man on Wire

Hey girls. I miss you all! I had a chance to listen to Philippe Petit explain how he does the impossible. Watch this video to get a sense of how interesting it was to listen to Philippe tell stories. And this short video about one of his famous walks across air. I think you will really enjoy listening to him speak about things like passion, intuition, faith, tenacity, and the impossible. One of my favorite parts of his talk, was about how 'problems will whisper solutions, if you just listen to the problem.'

Philippe Petit (French pronunciation: [filip pÉ™ti]; born 13 August 1949) is a French high-wire artist who gained fame in 1974 for his high-wire walk between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, on the morning of 7 August.[1] For his unauthorized feat (which he referred to as "le coup"[2]) 1,350-foot (400-metre) above the ground, he rigged a 450-pound (200-kilogram) cable and used a custom-made 26-foot (8-metre) long, 55-pound (25-kilogram) balancing pole. He performed for 45 minutes, making eight passes along the wire. The next week, he celebrated his 25th birthday. All charges were dismissed in exchange for his doing a performance in Central Park for children.
